In der heutigen Plenardebatte in Straßburg zu Russlands Eskalation seines Angriffskriegs gegen die Ukraine sagte die Kommissionspräsidentin, dass die Zerstörung von Nord Stream 1 und 2 ein Angriff auf die europäische Infrastruktur war, und forderte Konsequenzen.

Dazu erklärt Nicolaus Fest, Delegationsleiter der AfD im EU-Parlament:

„Jeder redet von Konsequenzen, niemand will den oder die Täter kennen.

Bevor Konsequenzen eingefordert werden, bedarf es einer gründlichen Untersuchung nach allen Regeln des Völkerrechts, um den oder die Täter zu überführen.

Die AfD hat einen Änderungsantrag zur namentlichen Abstimmung heute eingereicht, in dem die umfassende Aufklärung des Attentats auf europäische Infrastrukturen gefordert wird. Wir werden ja sehen, wer hier nur über zukünftige Konsequenzen redet, jetzt aber die Täter laufen lassen will.

Außerdem reichte die AfD eine „Große Anfrage“ (G-001001/2022) ein, in der die EU-Kommission den Fortschritt bei der Aufklärung wird darlegen müssen – wenn sie diese überhaupt beantwortet.“

Nicolaus Fest on escalation in Ukraine and Nordstream attack

In today's plenary debate in Strasburg about the escalation of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the President of the Commission stated that the destruction of Nord Stream 1 and 2 was an attack on European infrastructure. She called for consequences.

Nicolaus Fest, head of the AfD delegation in the EU Parliament, commented:

“Everybody talks about consequences, but no one seems inclined to know who did it.

Before they call for consequences, we need a thorough investigation, compliant with the rules of international law, to convict eventual perpetrators.

The AfD has submitted an amendment for a roll call vote today, calling for comprehensive investigation of this attack on European infrastructures. We will see who only talks about upcoming consequences, but also who wants to let the perpetrators walk away.

In addition, the AfD submitted a major interpellation (G-001001/2022) in which the EU Commission must explain the investigation's progress – if indeed it answers it at all."
